Slovak president warns of dangers of NATO joining war in Ukraine

Bratislava, SANA- Slovak President Zuzana Caputova considered that NATO’s joining the current war in Ukraine by sending troops or creating a no-fly zone would mean entering a third world war.

In an interview with Markíza TV channel, Caputova said that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not realistically possible now, noting that this issue is more complicated than joining the European Union.

On the other hand, a recent opinion poll showed that 67 percent of Slovak citizens don’t agree with the presence of US soldiers in their country, compared to 29 percent who support it.

The Slovak Defense Minister, Jaroslav Nad, announced last week that he would propose this week to his country’s government to approve the deployment of advanced NATO forces in Slovakia.
