UN Security Council extends Libya mission for three months

New York, SANA-The UN Security Council issued on Sunday night a resolution on extending the mandate of the UN special political mission in Libya for just three months

The 15-member council unanimously approved a resolution on extending the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) for three months, till April 30, 2022, according to the AFP.

The resolution says UNSMIL should be led by a special envoy and recognizes the UN secretary-general’s responsibility to appoint a special envoy for Libya.
