Tehran, SANA- Syria and Iran on Sunday held talks in Tehran to bolster the bilateral relations in the fields of higher education and implementing the agreements signed between the two sides.
This came during a meeting between Iranian Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Head of Student Affairs Organization, Dr. Hashem Dadashpour and the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Dayoub.
The two sides discussed mechanism of implementing the agreements and memos of understanding signed during the visit of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to Tehran recently.
During the meeting, Ambassador Dayoub pointed out the necessity to follow up and implement those agreements through the formation of an executive working team with participation of representative of the Syrian Embassy and Iranian Organization of Student Affairs.
Dayoub indicated that boosting the Scientific, technological and educational relations with Iran, as well as strengthening of cooperation relations between the two countries’ universities are on priorities of the Syrian Government and Higher Education Ministry.
For his part, Dadashpour affirmed his country’s readiness to provide scholarships for outstanding and talented Syrian students in various academic disciplines, asserting at the same time the need to implement the signed agreements between both sides
