Hama, SANA -Authorities stormed and seized Tuesday a munitions depot in western al-Mashtal area in the city of Hama, central Syria.
The depot was found containing large amounts of weapons, ammo, C4-explosive devices and equipment to make explosives, a military source told SANA reporter.
The source noted that the operation, which also resulted in capturing two terrorists who were inside the depot, was carried out with the help of the locals in the area.
Late last month, a unit of the army, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, seized 5 cars laden with heavy weaponry coming from Turkey near al-Sabboura town in the eastern countryside of Hama.
The weapons seized included 40 Grad and 107 mm caliber rockets, 120 and 60 mm caliber mortars, mortar rounds, machine guns, ammunition, satellite communication devices and Saudi-made food and medical materials.
