Moscow, SANA – A session of bilateral talks was held between the Syrian and Russian sides in the Russian Cabinet HQ in Moscow, chaired by Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of the Joint Committee for the Syrian side, Mansour Azzam, and Yury Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Joint Committee for the Russian side.
During the meeting, an evaluation was made on the economic cooperation between the two countries in various aspects and sectors, with both sides reviewing the files of enhancing the commercial exchange, facilitating and simplifying the measures of trade movement between the two countries, and following up on the import contracts signed between the authorities concerned.
Discussions also tackled the final details of an agreement to expand economic and trade cooperation between the two countries expected to be signed during the coming period.
Both sides also discussed domains of production and service sectors, dealing with the situation of joint investments in the energy sector and keenness on enhancing the productivity of investment in the field of oil and gas.
They affirmed the need to speed up efforts to carry out contracts on rehabilitating power stations and overcoming everything that may hinder this step in light of the difficulties the electricity sector suffers from.
