Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced that the main task for his country is to prevent the destabilization of its allies in the Central Asian region.
“The main task for us is the stability of the Central Asian countries because our borders with our allies in Central Asia are open and there is no visa regime with almost all of these countries,” Lavrov said in an interview with (Russia 24) channel.
Above all, he added, it is necessary to prevent instability in neighboring countries, terrorist threats and drug trafficking from Afghanistan, and it is also necessary to suppress these dangers within Afghanistan itself.
Last week, Lavrov called on Afghanistan’s neighboring countries to prevent any presence of the US and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces on the territory of this country, stressing that the NATO bears responsibility for the deep crisis that Afghanistan is going through.
