Cairo, SANA –The 23rd conference of the Arab Lawyers’ Union opened in Cairo on Friday affirmed solidarity with Syria.
Participants in the conference chanted the Syrian national anthem and slogans that show support to the Syrian Arab Army and condemn the role of Turkey and Qatar in sponsoring terrorism.
Secretary General of the Arab Lawyers Union Abdel Latif Boueshrin condemned the bloodshed in Syria, underlining the need for strengthening the Arab unity and solidarity in facing the current challenges and achieving the economic and political independence.
He called on Arabs to take unified positions to reach solutions to the current crises in Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen and in Libya.
Chairman of the Arab Lawyers Union Sameh Ashour called for maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity and condemned the Arab silence towards the schemes of fragmenting Iraq, Libya, Sudan and other Arab countries, underlining the need for Syria to restore its seat in the Arab League.
The 3-day conference will discuss a number of Arab, regional and international issues in addition to issues of freedoms, democracy, human rights and other juridical subjects.
Participants in the conference, which continued deliberations on Saturday, slammed Western support for takfiri terrorist organizations, underscoring the necessity of confronting a US-led new colonial scheme for fragmenting the region.
The Arab Nation’s Affairs and Counter-terrorism Committee denounced the atrocities of takfiri terrorists in Syria, Iraq and Egypt and Libya, calling for Arab unity to eradicate terrorism.
