Pedersen: Meeting of Committee of discussing constitution to be held on October 18th

New York, SANA- UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, said that a new round of meetings of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution will be held in Geneva on October 18th .

“The mini –committee of discussing the constitution will convene in Geneva on October 18th as invitations for attending the 6th round of the meetings have been sent”, Pederson said at a session for UN Security Council.

Syria’s permanent representative to the UN , Basam Sabbagh, affirmed during the session that Syria rejects any foreign intervention in the work of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution or any attempt to impose timetables and premature conclusions for its work as “constitution is an issue decided by the Syrians.”
