12 dead after passenger ship capsizes in Guizhou, China

Beijing, SANA- 12 persons were killed after a passenger ship turned upside down in a river in China’s Guizhou province, according to the Chinese authorities.

The ship, which had a capacity of 40 people, was overloaded when the accident happened, Xinhua News Agency stated.

A total of 214 rescuers, more than 50 rescue ships, and over 50 fire trucks and ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

Besides, sets of equipment, including underwater robots, have also been deployed for the search and rescue operations.
