Damascus, SANA- “Wounded of the Homeland” Sports Games kick off on Friday with the participation of about 100 wounded of total disabled people in various sports at al-Assad Sports City in Lattakia.
The competition will last for five days with Arab and international participation.
“The Wounded of Homeland project” said in a briefing posted on its official Facebook page that the wounded participants of the Syrian Arab Army, the Internal Security Forces and the supporting forces will compete in swimming, ping-pong, basketball, badminton, athletics and physical strength games, along with participants from the Russian Federation and Iraq.
The project added that the wounded participants in the course underwent qualitative training for a month and a half under the supervision of specialized coaches from the General Sports Federation to develop their skills and stir their unlimited capabilities to compete in the games.
