Darra, SANA- Daraa Water Company said that pumping water had been stopped to a number of villages where therefore 150 thousand citizens deprived from drinking water, when unknown persons sabotaged two water pumping stations in Daraa northwestern countryside.
Assistant of Daraa Water Company Osama al-Qaderi said that unknown persons stormed into Tal al-Joumoa water pumping station feeding Nawa city , sabotaged the station, and stole a 400kV transformer and copper cables and the station has stopped as a result.
The station feeds about 120 thousand citizens with 250 cubic meter per hour water pumping, he added, indicating that the company secured an alternative transformer in preparation for re-pumping the water as normal.
Al-Qaderi said that another attack carried out by unknown persons targeted al-Hara pumping station depriving 30 thousand citiazens from water.
SANA reporter in Daraa noted that authorities concerned started investigations into the two attacks .
