New York, SANA-While Turkish occupation and its terrorist mercenaries continue their criminal practices against people of Hasaka city and deprive residents from water, officials at the UN called for putting an end to obstacles and practices which caused to stop the water flow at Alouk station in Hasaka northern countryside.
In a joint statement published on the United Nations website, issued by Imran Reda, UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria, Muhannad Hadi, Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for crises in Syria, and Ted Chaiban, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, said that “Water stations are civil infrastructure that must be protected at all times”, calling for a stop to the continuous obstructions in the work of the vital Alouk water station in northeastern Syria.’’
They also urged to immediately secure a safe corridor for the regular access of the humanitarian technical staff, so that the Alouk water station can be operated without additional interruptions.
