Homs, SANA- Celebrating Christmas, the Syriac Orthodox Church at al-Hamidiya neighborhood in Homs Old City on Sunday held a singing evening through which artist Linda Bittar performed a bunch of songs and Christmas hymns in presence of huge audience from al-Hamidiya and the surrounding neighborhoods, in addition to a number of Christian clergymen.
Singer Bittar told SANA that Christmas embodies renovation which is very similar to what is taking place in the neighborhoods of the Old City after three years of destruction, killing and displacement at the hands of the armed terrorist organizations.
“I hope that smile will return to the faces of Homs citizens in these holy days,” Bittar said
Attending the activity, Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi said that happiness and peace have returned again to the alleys of the Old City through the resilience and determination of its locals who have exerted all possible efforts to make their city more beautiful than ever after it got rid of the obnoxious terrorism thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian army and the steadfastness of its residents.
For his part, Patron of the Syriac Orthodox Church Bishop Michel Nu’aman said that Christmas is an occasion to “Love each other and to consolidate the message of love and peace preached by Jesus Christ.”
