Moscow, SANA- Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs of the Russian Federation Leonid Slutsky called for unifying ranks and standing firmly in all international circles in the face of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.
Slutsky asserted that these measures exacerbate suffering of the Syrian people, especially in light of outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
In a response to a question by SANA correspondent in Moscow, Slutsky said on Wednesday in a video conference that the artificial unilateral measures inflicted a huge damage on the Syrian economy and impeded reconstruction of the infrastructure destroyed by the international terrorism, including the historical monuments which are sponsored by the UN Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The US and European Union have imposed unilateral coercive measures, targeting the livelihood of the Syrian people.
Slutsky called for unifying efforts and the need to work together for recovery of the economy and rebuild what terrorism has destroyed in Syria.
