Damascus Countryside, SANA – A unit of the Army and Armed Forces secured the evacuation of 76 families from Douma city in the Eastern Ghouta area of Damascus Countryside.
A source at the Police Command told SANA that the families consisted of 322 persons including men, women, and children, and that they arrived at al-Wafidin Camp and were transported to a temporary housing center in Qudsaya area on Monday.
The source said that 20 of those people were gunmen who turned themselves in and surrendered their weapons to the authorities so that their legal status can be resolved.
Several terrorist groups including the “Islam Army” and “Nation’s Army” are present in Douma, committing various crimes against locals, including murder, robbery, and forced eviction.
Earlier in November, terrorists in the city crucified Maher Mohammad Qashouh alive and paraded him on a truck around the city, before decapitating him and hanging his head beside his body in public, all upon orders from the “Sharia court” which had charged him of “apostasy” and working with the government.
