Syria, Iran, and Iraq agree to continue coordination on counterterrorism

Tehran, SANA – Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem discussed with Iranian and Iraqi counterparts Mohammad Javad Zarif and Ibrhaim al-Jaafari the latest regional and international and issues of common interest.

The three sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation on efforts of combating terrorism, particularly the terrorism of ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and other Al Qaeda offshoots.

On a relevant note, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said in a statement that Iran, Syria, and Iraq are very serious about resolving problems in the region, adding that the tripartite meeting could lead towards a mechanism for resolving the crisis currently affection the region and other regional issues.

Afkham stressed that terrorism is one of the most prominent issues in the region, and that Iran is playing an active role in tackling this issue.
