Lattakia, SANA- The firefighting brigades which are affiliated to the Agriculture Directorate in Lattakia managed to encircle and control the fire which was erupted in the forests of al-Shaara mountain on the administrational borders between Lattakia and Hama provinces.
Engineer Bassem Douba, Director of the Forestry Department at the Agriculture Directorate, told SANA reporter in a statement on Wednesday that tanks to the efforts of the firefighting brigades affiliated to the Forestry Department and the Syrian Arab Army personnel and with participation of Army Helicopters and two Russian Ilyushin aircrafts we were able to encircle the fire and control it.
Douba added that the site is completely encircled, there are no fires, but there are cinders.
He added that the site is completely encircled with fire lines which were carried out by the firefighting and the forestry members who are still deployed on the surrounding of the fire.
