Damascus, SANA-Prime minister, Hussein Arnous, discussed on Monday with an Abkhazian delegation, chaired by Head of the Administration of the Abkhazian President Alkhas Kvitsinia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Daur Vadimovich Kove means of improving economic relations and mutual trade exchanges between the two countries.
Talks during the meeting dealt with pushing relations between Syria and Abkhazia forwards in all levels, particularly in economy and investment, activating the work of joint committees to develop cooperation, establishing a joint Syrian-Abkhaz businessmen council to facilitate the access of the two countries’ products to their respective markets and exchanging visits to explore horizons and cooperation opportunities to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
Arnous affirmed that Syria spares no effort during the conditions of the unjust economic blockade to achieve self-sufficiency by relying on its capabilities and cooperating with friendly countries that stood by it in the face of international terrorism.
He added that Syria looks forward to cooperation with the Republic of Abkhazia in various fields after preparing the appropriate ground for the requirements of this cooperation, indicating that the Syrian and Abkhaz people share many common values and principles.
For his part, Kvitsinia expressed his appreciation for the stances of Syria and its people in support of the Republic of Abkhazia, and his country’s desire to upgrade the level of economic relations, especially in the agricultural and tourism fields and services in a way that achieves mutual benefit and interest and enhances the two countries’ ability to face challenges.
