Syria, Abkhazia sign agreement on mutual exemption of visas for bearers of diplomatic, official and private passports

Damascus, SANA- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem, received on Monday an Abkhazian delegation chaired by Head of the Administration of the Abkhazian President Alkhas Kvitsinia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Daur Vadimovich Kove.

Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in all domains in the interests of the two countries.

Memebrs of the Abkhazian delegation expressed their country’s appreciation, as government and people, for stances of Syria in support of Abkhazia, referring to the importance of the historic decision by the two countries to establish diplomatic relations between them as a basis of cooperation in all fields, particularly in economy, trade and investment.

They affirmed Abkhazia’s support to Syria in the war against terrorism.

Al-Moallem, for his part, welcomed the visiting delegation, appreciating Abkhazia’s stances in support of Syria and expressing the Syrian side satisfaction over the distinguished level to which the bilateral relations have reached represented by the important visit of the Abkhazian delegation to Syria and opening the Abkhazian embassy in Damascus.

Following the meeting, the two sides signed an agreement on mutual exemption of visas for the citizens in both countries for bearers of diplomatic, official and private passports.
