Meetings of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution resumed in Geneva

Geneva, SANA- Meetings of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution were resumed on Thursday at the United Nations Palace in Geneva this afternoon with the participation of delegations, after being suspended since last Monday.

Earlier, UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, announced that the meetings of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution to be resumed today afternoon after the concerned health authorities have confirmed the possibility of resuming them.

In a statement, Pedersen said that after the additional test and more of medical advice and experts regarding four positive tests prior to coronavirus, the office of the special envoy was formally informed by the concerned health authorities that the nature of those cases show that the 3rd round of the committee can be resumed with a complete social distancing and taking all relevant precautions.

He added that after consulting all the participant presidents and members of the committee, the meetings will be resumed at 2:00 p.m. at the UN Palace in Geneva.
