Damascus countryside, SANA – A number of Syrian students who had been studying in India returned last week as part of the efforts to bring home Syrians who had been stranded abroad due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and as per the health measures for curbing the spread of the virus, the students were quarantined at al-Horjelah center in Damascus countryside.
Visiting the center, SANA’s reporter met some of the students, including Ward Shbatt, a student of IT who was studying in Marwadi University in India, and he said “We did not expect this much attention, and all the suitable amenities are available, and any lack is quickly remedied by the center’s staff.”
Shbatt said that the medical staff at the center are following up on the health conditions of residents around the clock, praising the efforts of health workers in confronting the pandemic.
For her part, Fatima Fadel, ajournalist who had been pursuing a Master’s degree in India, said that upon arrival from Damascus International Airport, the students were distributed among the residential flats, which have new furniture and appliances, adding that a specialized team disinfects the spaces between the apartments each day.
