President al-Assad appoints new governors for five governorates

Damascus, SANA_ President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday issued several decrees provide for the appointment of new governors for the provinces of Daraa, Quneitra, Sweida, Homs and Hasaka.

President al-Assad issued Decree No. 127 for the year 2020 that names Humam Sadeq al-Debiyat as Governor of Sweida. Al-Debiyat was governor of Quneitra.

The President also issued Decree No. 128 for the year 2020 assigning Bassam Mamdouh Barssik as Governor of Homs. Before this position, Barssik held the position of Deputy Minister of Tourism.

President al-Assad issued Decree No. 129 for the year 2020 stipulates for the appointment of Mohammed Tarek Ziad Kreshati as Governor of Quneitra.

Decrees 130 and 131 were also issued by the president on the appointment of Marwan Ibrahim Sharbak as governor of Daraa and Ghassan Halim Khalil as Hasaka governor.
