Damascus, SANA – Head of the Damascus Countryside Health Directorate Dr. Yasin Nanous said that the samples taken from 31 out of 138 Syrians who arrived on Tuesday from states had registered Coronavirus cases have been tested and came back negative.
Nanous said in a statement to SANA that swabs had been taken from all the people that are being quarantined at the hotel and were sent to the referential laboratory for testing, with the tests of 31 of these persons coming back negative, meaning they are not infected with the Coronavirus disease, while the remaining samples will be tested successively as per the capacity of the laboratory.
Nanous pointed out that the persons whose test results came out negative will leave the quarantine center at Damascus International Airport on Sunday evening, and medical teams will follow-up on their status on daily basis for 14 days.
Recently, the referential lab’s capacity was increased, allowing it to conduct 30 to 40 tests per day instead of 10-15.
