Idleb, SANA, Syrian Arab Army units on Sunday cleared the towns of Maar Shurin and al-Zaalana and the villages of al-Ghadfeh and al-Dana in Idleb countryside of terrorists, reaching the outskirts of the Aleppo-Hama highway north of Maarat al-Numan.
SANA reporter said that in the past few hours, army units carried out concentrated operations against terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and groups affiliated to it in Idleb’s southern countryside, establishing control over the towns of Maar Shurin and al-Zaalana and the village of al-Ghadfeh in Idleb’s southern countryside after inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists.
With this, army units are only a few hundred meters away from the Aleppo-Hama highway north of Maarat al-Numan.
Later, SANA’s reporter said that the army established control over the village of al-Dana west of the highway between Maaret al-Numan and Saraqeb.
Earlier in the day, army units engaged in fierce clashes with the terrorists in the vicinity of strategic Wadi Al-Deif, adjacent to Maar Shamsha village which had been liberated by the army units on Saturday evening.
The reporter pointed out that army units also repelled an attack by terrorist groups on the direction of al-Samaka village, which was liberated by the army on Saturday, inflicting losses upon terrorists in personnel and equipment.
Over the past two days the towns and villages of Maar Shamareen, Taqana, Talmans, Maar Shamsha, al-Samaka, al-Tah, and Deir al-Sharqi in the southern countryside of Idleb were cleared of terrorism.
