Homs, SANA-A delegation of Italian MPs and politicians, headed by member of the Italian senate House Paolo Romani, visited on Wednesday the archaeological city of Palmyra and Homs city.
Members of the delegation inspected the famous temple of Bel, street of columns, the ancient amphitheater and many other places, having a look at the sabotage that affected the ancient sites at the hands of Daesh terrorists before they were expelled from the city.
“There are many archaeological sites in Italy and Europe in general, but the existence of Palmyra ruins in the middle of the desert is a very good and distinguished thing,” Paolo Romani said.
He hoped there would be a kind of cooperation to present a useful thing this that “marvelous city,” as he described.
Later, the Italian delegation visited the central city of Homs and inspected the volume of sabotage and destruction left by terrorists in the neighborhood of Jouret al-Shayah, al-Khaldiyah and al-Qosour.
