Tehran, SANA- Oil and Mineral Resources Minister, Ali Ghanem, discussed on Tuesday with Iranian Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Zangeneh, aspects of strategic cooperation between Syria and Iran in the oil sector.
During the meeting, Ghanem briefed the Iranian Minister on the losses in the energy and oil sector due to the terrorist war on Syria, saying that there are many aspects of bilateral cooperation in petroleum and mines’ sectors.
He pointed out to the need for joint work to rehabilitate facilities, production lines, exchanging expertise and training the Syrian cadres in the technical field.
The Iranian Petroleum Minister, for his part, underlined his country’s willingness to cooperate with the Syrian oil Ministry in the domain of drilling, oil and gas facilities and equipment.
Later, the Syrian Minister discussed with Iranian Industry, Mine and Trade, Reza Rahmani, means of realizing a remarkable step in the bilateral cooperation in the domain of industry and Mines through benefiting from the capabilities and energies in both countries.
Minister Rahmani, for his part, underlined the importance of strategic relation between Syria and Iran, expressing his country’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian Oil Ministry in the field of drilling, mines and training technical cadres.
Syria’s Ambassador in Tehran, Adnan Mahmoud attended the two meetings.
