Damascus, SANA-Members of the People’s Assembly’s National Reconciliation Committee discussed means of activating the committee’s work and focusing on certain areas so as to make a success of the ongoing national reconciliation processes.

The members called during the meeting for continued coordination with the bodies concerned and the ministry of national reconciliation as regards boosting the ongoing reconciliations in some areas and mechanisms of returning the displaced to their localities.

They called for putting an end to acts of blackmail against citizens by “sides that have jumped the bandwagon of national reconciliations,” demanding that the experience of national dialogue committees be resuscitated.In a press statement following the meeting, Chairman of the Committee Omar Osi said the meeting thrashed out several files and issues, as well as means of smoothing over obstacles to make national reconciliation a success.
