Homs, SANA – A military source at al-Tifour military airport dismissed as groundless media reports which claimed that terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have seized the airport.
The reports, circulated by anti-Syria satellite TV channels and some social networking sites, said ISIS terrorists took over the airport, which is located in the countryside of the central province of Homs, after detonating a car bomb at its main entrance.
The military source confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that al-Tifour airport is “operating as normal,” stressing the airport’s high level of preparedness where “all assigned missions in defense of the homeland are being performed normally.”
