Foreign Ministry: Israeli occupation attempts to force Syrian citizens register their lands at Israeli departments flagrant violation of international laws

Damascus, SANA-Syria affirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities’ hostile polices in the occupied Syrian Golan that force the Syrian citizens to register their lands, inherited from their ancestors, at the department of properties affiliated to the occupation authorities is a flagrant violation of the international laws.

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in an identical letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General and President of the Security Council on Wednesday that the occupation authorities still practice all forms of pressure on the Syrian families in Golan to force them register their inherited lands at the Property Department of the Israeli occupation authorities to hand them an Israeli document of property instead of the Syrian property.

“The occupation authorities have lately intended to announce for a survey to the farms which extend between Ayn al-Rihan and Sa’ar river regions in order to register these farms as Israeli properties,” the letter added.

It affirmed that the occupied Syrian Golan is an integrated part of the Syrian territory, adding that Syria will work by all available means to restore Golan as it is an eternal right that can’t be prescribed.

“Syria asserts its support to the Syrian Arab citizens in their resistance against the Israeli occupation and their rejection of the decision to annex the Golan to the occupation entity,” Foreign Ministry said.

It added that Syria calls again on the Security Council to act urgently to preserve international peace and security by obliging Israel to stop its illegal settlement policies and repressive measures against our people in the occupied Syrian Golan, which constitute a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and relevant General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, in particular, resolution no.497 which considers the Israeli occupation’s measures and laws in Golan as null and void.
