Amman, SANA-Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim said on Sunday that his country rejects US president’s proclamation on the occupied Syrian Golan as it contradicts the international legitimacy.
“US president Trump’s proclamation on Golan is unilateral and it violates the international legitimacy… Iraq doesn’t recognize it,” al-Hakim said during a quartet meeting in Amman with Foreign Ministers of Jordan, Greece and Cyprus.
RT quoted al-Hakim as saying that Golan is a Syrian territory and the international resolutions recognize Syria’s sovereignty on Golan.
He appreciated Russia’s role in support of Syria in the fight against terrorism.
