Damascus, SANA – People’s Assembly passed a bill on establishing the General Commission for Forensic Medicine during its session held on Monday and chaired by Speaker of People’s Assembly Mohammed Jihad al-Laham.
Justice Minister, Dr. Najm al-Ahmad said the law takes into consideration the scientific state and the utilization of expertise, experiences and the standards of forensic science as this profession has made great strides in several countries around the world.
The Commission aims at implementing the national policy of forensic medicine, providing forensic, research and training services, setting up the main bases for forensic medicine and supervising the performance of forensic pathologists.
