Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Science Olympiad’s Informatics team won one silver medal and two bronze medals in the 3rd infO(1) CUP, an international online competitive programming competition organized by Romania with the participation of more than 30 countries.
Nubough Yassin, Director of the Syrian Science Olympiad at the Distinction and Creativity Agency, said the silver medal was one by Tamer Imad, while the bronze medals were won by Hasan Khadra and Ahmad Haidar.
He said the competitions were held on Sunday simultaneously in all participating countries, lasting five consecutive hours and involving a number of tasks that require a high level of analytical and logical thinking and knowledge of programming algorithms.
This competition is an important point in the Syrian Science Olympiad team’s preparations for the 31st International Olympiad in Informatics, which will be held in July in Azerbaijan.
