Syrian athletes win two gold medals at West Asia Karate Championship

Sharjah, SANA – Syria’s karate team on Friday won four medals; two gold, one silver, and one bronze, during the first day of the West Asia Karate Championship currently being held in Sharjah, UAE.

Wasim Khamis won a gold medal in the under-57kg category and Mais Qara Falah won gold in the under-52kg category, while Azzam Sayyouh won silver in the under-63kg category, and Mohammad Dhaimesh won bronze in the under-60kg category.

Syrian athletes are due to compete in six other weight categories on Saturday.
