Rainfalls in different provinces, polar low pressure continues to affect al-Jazeera area

Damascus, SANA- A polar low pressure accompanied by very cold and wet air mass in all layers of the atmosphere will continue to affect al-Jazeera area while other areas will be affected by a superficial low air pressure accompanied by northwestern air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Thursday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy in al-Jazeera area, meanwhile, the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in other areas and temperatures will continue to drop to become from 5 to 7 degrees below average.

The Department expected that at night, the weather will be cold in general, warning against ice over the mountains and fog and frost in some inland areas.

The wind will be westerly to northwesterly with a light to moderate speed in the coastal areas and it will be active as its speed will exceed 70 km per hour sometimes in some areas and the sea waves will be from low to medium in height.

Different amounts of rainfalls have been registered in the Syrian provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: Hama 110 mm, Damascus and its countryside 47 mm, Sweida 30 mm, Daraa 33 mm, Quneitra 88 mm, Homs 48 mm, Hama 100 mm, Tartous 82 mm, Lattakia 58 mm, Idleb 20mm, Aleppo 25mm and Raqqa 6mm.

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 9/3, Daraa 12/2, Homs 10/1-, Lattakia 13/8, Aleppo 4/1 and Deir Ezzor 6/0.
