Tehran, SANA – Chairman of the Foreign Policy and National Security Committee at the Iranian Shura Council Alaeddin Boroujerdi slammed the operations carrid out by the U.S. and its allies against positions of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization as “farcical”.
In a statement on Saturday, Boroujerdi said the U.S. decision to form an international alliance to fight ISIS is “questionable” and unacceptable to Iran, noting that Tehran has from the very beginning rejected cooperation with this alliance.
He highlighted that the Americans have been watching silently the crimes committed by the terrorist organizations against defenseless innocents in Syria and Iraq for four years without uttering a word of rejection of those heinous acts.
The US’s deafening silence, Boroujerdi said, shows their indifference to the lives of the innocent and defenseless civilians, clarifying that it was the U.S. public opinion’s frustration at the beheading of the American journalists by ISIS that has forced the U.S. administration to create the so-called alliance to fight ISIS.
