Damascus, SANA-Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh emphasized the deep-rooted relations between Syria and Armenia.
Sabbagh’s remarks came during a meeting with a delegation of Syrian expatriates and a number of Armenian economic figures on Sunday.
Sabbagh pointed out the key role of the allied and friendly countries in the reconstruction stage as promising opportunities are available in the country amid a calm situation thanks to the sacrifices achieved by the Syrian Arab Army, in cooperation with the allies and friends.
He said that the laws and the legislations are being issued to create an appropriate investment environment and encourage investors.
For his part, Ambassador of Armenia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Damascus Dikran Kevorkian affirmed that his country opposes any aggression or terrorism targeting Syria which enjoys full sovereignty over its territory and will emerge victorious.
He indicated that many Armenian businessmen are willing to invest in Syria during the reconstruction stage.
