“Music for Peace” project, considers classical music as language of love and Peace

Lattakia, SANA _ In the framework of the “Music for Peace” project , a concert has been recently held for a group of Russian international musicians on the stage of Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia.

The musical evening was organized by the Ministry of Culture  in cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Damascus.

Musicians Vitaly Vatulya, a saxophone player, Yevgeny Rumyantsev, a violoncello player and Denis Chivanov, a pianist participated in the evening.

In a statement to SANA, Russian musicians expressed their happiness to be in Syria in the framework of the “Music for Peace” project, which was launched eight years ago to spread classical music and present it on the world stage based on the belief that classical music is the language of love and peace.

The program also included carrying out several workshops for the students of Mahmoud Al-Ajan Music Institute in Lattakia.

The high level of students and the outstanding talents at the Institute and their quick response to all notes were highly lauded.

Vatulya, participated in creating the international project “Music for Peace”, through which he visited several countries to provide charity shows and workshops. He is also the founder of the Reformers’ Festival of Classical Music.

Rumyantsev, he is considered a permanent participant in the local and international festivals held in Russia, Europe and Asia. He teaches students at Moscow Conservatory and organizes workshops in Russia and abroad.

During his work at the Conservatory and at the Central Music School, Chivanov prepared dozens of winners in the international competitions.

Music for Peace” is a charitable musical project, and its mission is to benefit young musicians who live in countries  suffering wars; The MfP project used the convening power of music as a vehicle to create international and cross-cultural relationships between young people all over the world.

Through music, MfP aims to bring individuals from all backgrounds and social statuses together and create a relaxed and natural environment in which they can succeed.
