Oct 14, Israeli forces commit Qibya massacre against 66 Palestinians

1907 – Agreement signed between Emperor Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and Emperor Meiji of Japan for ending the Russo-Japanese War.
1918 – Ottoman Empire declares its surrender in World War I.
1933 – Germany withdraws from the League of Nations.
1953 – Israeli force led by Ariel Sharon storm the village of Qibya at night killing 66 Palestinians and wounding dozens in addition to destroying 45 houses, which became known as the massacre of Qibya.
1890 – Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States, was born.
1944 – Erwin Rommel, German military commander named Desert Fox, committed suicide.
