Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet approved on Tuesday a number of bills including one on exempting taxpayers from fees and fines for overdue net profit income taxes from 2012 and before it, a bill on licensing and regulating kindergartens, and a bill amending the decree on establishing the Syrian Agency for Medical Specialties.
Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said that the proposed 2015 state budget takes into account the content of the new government’s ministerial statement, noting that the proposed budget is set at SYP 1,554 billion.
The Premier called on ministries to ensure the availability of goods and supplies in the markets during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday, stressing the need to monitor prices and be prepared to face any challenges that may arise.
Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalawanji reviewed the state of the services and utilities sector, noting that work is underway to rehabilitate the infrastructure in the Adra Workers City and that the drinking water network has improved in all areas.
In turn, Administrative Development Minister Hassan al-Nouri reviewed the ministry’s plans for carrying out the tasks assigned to it, underlining a number of issues affecting administration in the government’s various sectors and the steps needed to realize true and tangible administrative development.
