Rehabilitating infrastructure and ensuring basic services in parallel with return of displaced families in Namer village, Daraa

Daraa, SANA- The return of thousands of displaced families to their homes in the villages, towns and cities of Daraa province liberated by the Syrian Arab Army from terrorism affirms the return of normal life in these areas amid mounting needs to intensify the efforts and cooperation between the locals and the bodies concerned in order to start the work and production at all levels.

The locals of Namer village, 22km east of Daraa who began to return to their houses after six years of forced displacement by the terrorist organizations stressed the urgent need to rehabilitate and restore what has been damaged by terrorists as soon as possible.

Speaking to SANA reporter, the locals’ demands focused on returning the basic services and re-opening the roads closed by terrorists.

Yamen al-Qaderi, one of the returnees, affirmed the need to form a committee tasked with assessing the damage and facilitating the return of the locals, in line with the return of basic services.

Murad al-Riabi pointed out to the great damage caused to the village by terrorism, stressing the need to clean the roads, remove debris, restore electricity and water services, rehabilitate drinking water wells and schools in preparation for the new school year.

Head of the Qarfa town council , Mohammed al-Ghazali said work is under way to assess the damage caused to public and private properties, adding that three schools need partial restoration and a fourth needs full restoration.
