Hamsho wins first round of Syria’s drift racing championship

Damascus, SANA – Syria’s champion Ahmed Hamsho won first place in the first round of the 3rd edition of Syria’s drift racing championship which witnessed a remarkable level of performance and strong competition between the racers amid huge crowds.

The event is organized by the Syrian Automobile Club in the car racing circuit of Ma’aret Saydnaya in Damascus Countryside.

Hamsho ranked first with 554 points while the second place went to Mohammed al-Fawwal with 541 points. Racer Ahmed Krayzan came in the third place with 521 points.

In a statement to SANA, Hamsho noted that the next two rounds will be difficult taking into account the competition include strong racers who have the spirit of adventure and challenge.

The drift course is up to 1300 meters and it mainly depends on high speed, fast movement of the car, fluidity and audacious and short drifting maneuvers in order to demonstrate the strength of the car and the competence of its driver in controlling the car at serious junctures.
