Moscow, SANA-Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that international terrorism has been dealt a fatal blow in Syria, pointing out that the Astana platform and the outcomes of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi are the basis of a real political process to resolve the crisis in this country.
During a meeting on Thursday with the Russian ambassadors and envoys at international organizations, Putin said that the decisive role of Russia has led to a devastating blow against international terrorism in Syria, specifically Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization and other extremist groups, which has allowed the preservation of Syria’s unity and the creation of conditions for economic recovery and the return of the displaced.
Putin also called for invigorating assistance in solving humanitarian problems in Syria, pointing out that this is important for Syria and the region and for a big number of countries in the world because it would ease the pressure of immigration on European countries.
