Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Moscow is ready to discuss the issue of supplying Syria with the S-300 missile system.
In an interview with Italian newspaper Il Giornale, Shoigu said that the decision to provide such type of weapons to any foreign army is taken upon a request, and there is no request till now so it is too early to speak about that in particular.
The Russian Minister noted that the aggression launched by the US, Britain. and France against Syria showed the necessity of Syria possessing modern air defenses, and Moscow is ready to discuss this issue.
On the other hand, Shoigu said that the US is trying to destabilize the situation in Syria and to prolong the crisis in it, indicating that Washington hasn’t allocated any money to help the Syrian civilians who have been affected by the war.
He added that civilians in Raqqa city still die because of the ammunition and the mines left there due to the intensive shelling by warplanes of the “international coalition.”
