UNSC extends mission of UNDOF for six months

New York, SANA – The United Nations Security Council members on Friday unanimously extended the mission of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force in the occupied Syrian Golan (UNDOF) for six months.

In 2016, the United Nations announced the return of a number of UNDOF’s soldiers to its positions in Syria.

The UN withdrew a number of UNDOF forces in 2014 after Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists abducted more than 40 soldiers from the international force.
