Damascus Fire Department extinguishes fire in al-Amara neighborhood in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- Damascus Fire Department extinguished a fire which broke out in a warehouse for health supplies in al-Amara neighborhood in Old Damascus.

The fire extended to an area of 1,500 square meters, left an extensive material damage to the warehouse and a number of houses nearby.

Speaking to SANA, Deputy Director of Damascus Fir Department, Colonel Ali Hassan said that the fire fighters controlled the fire and succeeded in preventing the fire from extending to the neighboring areas, pointing out that the fire fighters are still securing the area to prevent the fire erupting again due to the nature of the area and the existence of old wooden houses.
