Bogdanov: Upcoming Astana meeting to discuss unifying efforts on eradicating Daesh and al-Nusra

Moscow, SANA- Russian President’s Special envoy to the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that the upcoming Astana meeting will discuss unifying efforts to eradicate terrorism in Syria.

In a statement on Thursday at the Russian city of Kazan, Bogdanov said that the cessation of hostilities agreement and unifying efforts to eradicate Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra are the main issues that will be discussed at the upcoming Astana meeting, due to be held on May 14-15, in addition to the agreement of de-escalation zones.

Russian President’s Special Envoy on Syria Alexander Lavrentiev will represent Russia at the Astana meeting, according to Bogdanov.
