Tehran, SANA – Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs, Mohammad Soltanifar, affirmed the importance of boosting joint media cooperation with Syria in all aspects, especially in the field of media and culture.
In a meeting held in Tehran on Saturday with a delegation from the Syrian Journalists Union, the Iranian official underlined the importance of boosting cooperation between both countries’ media outlets to convey the truth and expose what is going on in Syria to the international public opinion.
For his part, Chairman of the Syrian Journalists Union, Moussa Abdelnour, said that Syria will defeat terrorism and its supporters, calling for enhancing cooperation and joint action in the field of cultural activities and media.
Abdelnour expressed the Syrian people’s appreciation for Iran’s support to Syria and its positions and commitment to defending what is right and just.
Earlier, the delegation also paid a visit to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and met with its Director, Seyyed Zia Hashemi, who affirmed that there are great opportunities for media cooperation between Syria and Iran, pointing out to the importance of developing media cooperation agreement between the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) and IRNA.
In turn, Abdelnour said that the enemies of Syria used media to give a misleading and false account of what is happening in Syria and the terrorism that its people are subjected to, but the Syrian media succeeded in uncovering all misdirection and fabrication.
