Baghdad, SANA- Iraqi Foreign Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, and Grand Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad Badereddin Hassoun, stressed the importance of uniting efforts of the Islamic states for achieving the unity in the face of the hatred discourse which extremists try to sow among the people.
During a meeting held in Baghdad on Monday, al-Jaafari and Hassoun discussed means to unite the Islamic discourse for spreading the principles of amity and coexistence and renouncing extremism and terrorism.
Al-Jaafari emphasized the need for uniting the efforts of the Islamic states for achieving unity and spreading respect among their peoples.
He clarified that clergymen regardless of their states and nationalities should toady unify their religious discourse with the aim of spreading amity and peace which represent the essence of Islam.
For his part, Hassoun underlined the importance of the convergence of doctrines in a way that brings the Muslims together, achieves their interests and contributes to enhancing their relations.
He called for holding forums and awareness symposiums to face the discourse of hatred which extremists try to sow among the people.
