Moscow, SANA- Assistant of Iranian Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hussein Jabri Ansari, hoped that consultations to be held by the representatives of the guarantor states today and tomorrow and upcoming Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi will contribute to efforts of settling the crisis in Syria.
“I am confident that these consultations will enhance our joint cooperation to help speed up the political process in Syria,” Jabri Ansari said during his meeting with Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, in Moscow on Friday.
“The National Dialogue Congress will be held in Sochi 10 days later, so it is very important to hold the latest consultations on this issue with our Russian and Turkish partners, ” Ansari added .
He stressed that Iran and Russia have great potentials to solve regional conflicts and fight terrorism, hoping that today’s consultations will contribute to investing these potentials and opportunities between the two countries.
In turn, Bogdanov said that the Russian side “is counting on its ability to coordinate the settlement approach in Syria with Tehran,” adding that “our meeting is of great importance to us in order to clarify the details and agree on our approach to solve complicated problems in settlement of the crisis in Syria.”
Earlier, Jaberi Anasri arrived in Moscow for consultations on Middle East issues and is scheduled to head for Sochi to participate in the tripartite meeting of Russia, Iran and Turkey to review preparation for the Syrian National Dialogue Congress scheduled for January 29-30 .
