Foreign Ministry: Syria warns Israel against continuing its attacks and its support for terrorist groups

Damascus, SANA – The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry sent letters to the UN Secretary-General and the head of the Security Council on the two new rockets attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities on areas in Damascus Countryside, which were accompanied by attacks with shells by terrorists on the neighborhoods and suburbs of Damascus city.

In the letters, the Ministry said that the Israeli occupation carried out a rocket attack at 00:30 am on Saturday December 2nd which targeted a Syrian Army and Armed Forces position in al-Kisweh area in Damascus Countryside, followed by another attack at 22:30 PM on Monday December 4th which targeted another military position in Jemraya area, adding that these attacks were accompanied by attacks by terrorists with rocket and mortar shells that targeted the neighborhoods and suburbs of Damascus.

The Ministry said that the synchronization of the Israeli attacks with the attacks of their terrorist partners constitutes further irrefutable evidence of the coordination, partnership, and alliance between them.

The Ministry stressed that these recurring Israeli attacks violate Security Council resolution no. 350 for 1974 on disengagement, and seek to distract the Syrian Arab Army from continuing its operations against terrorist organizations, as these attacks seek to protect terrorists and raise their flagging morale.

The Ministry said that the Israeli support for terrorists in their war on Syria is no longer a secret nor can it be misconstrued, as the Israeli occupation has become exposed to the entire world as an open partner of Daesh (ISIS) and al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations that are given weapons, funding, orders, and logistic support by the occupation.

The letters concluded by asserting that Syria warns Israel once more against continuing its attacks and its support for terrorist groups, calling on the Security Council to condemn these attacks and to take immediate and decisive measures to cease the Israeli attacks and hold the occupation accountable for its support to terrorism.
